Why is my federal refund taking so long to be approved when I filed on January 29th?

Asked by: posadas 510 views YA Discussion

I filed my State and Federal taxes with TurboTax on January 29th. I owe the state some money and that was approved just a few days after I filed. However, I am getting money back from my federal taxes and it still says it is pending approval. I know there was a slight delay with my refund due to Education Credits but should it be taking this long to get a simple approval? How much longer do I need to wait for approval?

Returns that claim the Education Credit are not scheduled to be processed until the middle of February with the refund itself taking up to 21 days – you may not see your refund until early March.

i filed turbotax jan 29 and was accepted on the 30th for both. to this day i have not moved on the irs wmr bar. still on stage one ‘received’ processing up to 21 days smh. Called IRS this morning since wmr wasnt working, they said its still processing and could take up to 21 days. smh.

i know lots of folks who filed at the same time and received DD dates and some have already received refunds! This is crazy.
