Why is it taking so long to get my refund?

I filed mine January 28 and still haven’t got it

    You should get a DD tonight I filed on the 13th of January and got appected with the early but just getting approved today and a DD for the 21st. I didn’t call the irs I just waited. Hope you get yours soon.

    The bottom line is that it is taking so long because of the Fiscal Cliff and the delays that Congress put on the IRS in terms of tax law changes.

    The IRS didn’t even start processing returns until 1/30, so even if you filed yours on 1/28, your return wasn’t even looked at by the IRS until 1/30.

    Next, if you had certain education tax credits or deductions, your processing date didn’t even start until 2/14.

    Finally, because of the demand and delay in the start of tax season, the IRS issued guidelines that 90% of taxpayers will receive their refund in 21 days.
