Why does H&R block’s bank hold refund’s for so long?

   last year I filed with them and they didnt hold anything. You answered my previous question and so on my next break in 15 minutes im going to call both the HR Block bank at 1-800-687-4722 and also the location I filed at and ask them. Did you call the 800 # or your local office?

   UPDATE: I called the 800 # and spoke with someone and told her I wanted to check to see if they recieved the money and deducted their fees yet and she pulled it up by my SSN and said they did get it and that it will be deposited into my bank account on monday the 6th!!! YAY! Maybe call again and get someone else. Because whoever you spoke to didnt know anything.

   I think the person you talked to wasn’t really listening to your question.

   They heard “how long does it take” and they gave their generic answer of “10-14 days”

   It should only take them a 3 days at the absolute most from the time they get the money to the time you can spend it.

   At Liberty Tax Service our bank processes everything within about 20 minutes and there’s usually a check available for pick up within an hour or less of the IRS releasing the refund. If its direct deposit to your bank account YOUR bank can take 1-3 days to process but that’s not the tax preparer’s fault.

   That’s absurd. It should not take more than a day or two for the fee strip and to forward the balance to your account. You should see it any day now.
