Be patient. If the IRS makes an adjustment to your expected refund, they will send you a letter by mail within about two weeks explaining what they’ve done.

I hate to say “I told you so” as I have never spoken with you, but the word on the street is, use a legitimate CPA/Tax Preparer to have your taxes done. The govt. is well aware that the average citizen has no clue as to what the over 70,000 page tax code says, and tax preparers (good ones, anyway) are constantly pouring over this mockery of a document to find loopholes and deductions for you.
It might pay for you to take a copy of what you sent in to the IRS to a tax preparer and have him/her look it over.

The IRS will send a letter of explanation. It was either offset for debt or they disallowed something you claimed with no proof.

They will send you a letter explaining what happened. Either you owed the govt or you claimed something you had no proof of or couldn’t claim at all.
