    So you did receive some kind of a taxable grant amount during the 2013 tax year that you will now need to correctly report on the correct line of your 2013 1040 FIT return during the 2014 tax filing season for this purpose and time in your life.

    G is generally related to government entity, or possibly gambling(doubtful on this but someone issuing the 1099 might not know the requirements)
    if this is taxable grant, it sounds like the county has awarded some kind of grant that would be taxable to the person receiving it
    strictly guessing here since I have never heard of this
