Asked by: rdhouse 1648 views YA Discussion

I have filed my turbo tax E-File on jan 30 2013 , after i finished my return , turbo tax sent me an email saying that my return was accepted but i checked IRS.gov and it only states that my return is processing. it’s been 2 days now when will they accept it or should it be a problem ????

How others found here:

  • refund not approved
  • tax refund not approved yet
  • has the irs approved any returns yet

Don’t worry – there’s a lot of us in the same boat. I e-filed on 1/29 & it was accepted that day. And it’s still processing. I did my WI state that same day & yesterday it gave me a dd of 2/6. Hopefully tomorrow there will be DD. From what I have read on here – other that have e-filed on 1/29 & 1/30 are still waiting for the DD.

The only thing that the IRS will say is that 90% of taxpayers should have their refunds in hand in 21 days or less. There’s no guarantee of when you will get your refund. You’ll just have to be patient.

Same scenario for a whole bunch of us…..I guess you have to figure that MILLIONS of people submitted their returns for their refunds on or before 1/30….I too, was accepted on 1/30 but have not had any further updates from IRS other than “approved/processing/21 days etc”…..I know it is hard but don’t get to the worry point yet…it’s really only been 2 days since they received them.

Considering no one could file their taxes till the 30th I figure you and the other millions are still on hold. Because they were flooded with so many at once (people actually filed all month, but couldn’t be sent through until then)…..I’d just keep checking or call your local H & R Block to ask them if they know. Sorry. Thank the government.

Turbo Tax and the IRS are telling you the same thing using different words. Accepted/received (and in processing) simply means that it was not rejected initially because of a gross error (the names, birthdates and social security numbers all match and have not been used on another return this year).

I, too, was accepted on the date of the 30th. However, I know that in years past there was a deadline in the morning (EST) and I may or may not have been right at that deadline. If I was ont he other side of it, in the eyes of the IRS I was accepted on the 31st. Either way, processing length can vary. For the most part, I think those accepted on the 30th and/or 31st can expect to have a date for scheduled deposit on Monday- probably on the 6th or 7th. That is just speculation, though, based on the pattern I am seeing.

I filed on 1/31 at 1 am got through the waiting acceptance, then waiting IRS acceptance, accepted and return received by the end of the night but still no DD. ON the website bar says after returned received then its refund approved then lastly refund sent. Hopefully I get a DD by the end of the night. I filed with taxact online .Good luck!

You should be fine. Mine was accepted on the 28th and this morning Where’s My Refund said my direct deposit date was Feburary 5th.
I’m seeing most people that were accepted on the 26th or 27th have a direct deposit date of Feburary 1st or February 4th…most on the 28th have a direct deposit date of February 5th…,so the person who said they were accepted on the 29th and have a DD date of February 6th sounds right in-line, so you should be the 7th, etc.
Also, I was accepted on the 28th, but I didn’t get it approved until this morning, so you should be up soon.
The irs is also doing deposits every day this year. Hope this helps
    Happy Waiting

Hi, I also e-filed my Federal taxes on 1/29 with TaxAct. I have filed with them for about 6 years now. Never had to wait this long for the IRS to accept. I am thinking maybe because of the overflow of everyone filing at the same time. Anyone else who filed with TaxAct around the same time as I and still awaiting from the IRS to accept their return?

    Thanks!

Actually that should relieve up both because that may mean it is a general error and not something specific!!

I filed on 1/28 and was accepted on 1/29. WMR still says that my info is wrong but it’s not and the hotline says processing still. I called the rep and she told me that my dd is 2/6. So hopefully you will hear something soon. This is a breeze compare to the fiasco from last year. Good luck!
