Tax Refund Question, Accepted but not Approved?

Asked by: kcomment 735 views YA Discussion

I filed my taxes on the 18th, got a email saying they were accepted on the 25th and now when I go on it just says they have received them and they are being processed. But I filed my sisters taxes on the 25th, she was accepted on the 27th and on the 31st the WMR said it was approved and she should get a refund on 2/4 but mine is still in the processing part, and then during the day I cant even check it cause tells me I entered the information wrong. Im just confused as to why mine hasn’t been approved yet, but was accepted? It doesnt make sense to me.

Today’s news the IRS states NO refunds until the second week of Feb. The website has NOT been updated. Try reading the daily news

We filed on the 25th and got accepted on the 27th. Yesterday, WMR said it was accepted and being processed. Today, however, it tells me that I’ve entered my information in wrong and to try again. I was told if you enter your details too many times, it will give you the “wrong information” business. However, if you call the 1-800 refund number, it should tell you something.

I was also told that if you can order a transcript of your 2012 income tax refund account, then chances are it is out of processing. I”ve been reading where people said the WRM is stuck on “processing”, but they received their direct deposits. I think this has happened to me before.

Best I can tell you, and I shall practice what I preach, is only check the WMR site once a day. The IRS updates between 3:00 am and 6:00 EST, and 11:00 pm to 6:00 am EST. Also, I’ve been saying prayers every day, so I’m putting my faith in God and that He will see us through this.

Since it is a new system, I can only speculate, as with any new program that there are glitches. Call the IRS hot-line number and wait through the 15-20 minutes to speak with an agent. It will give you peace of mind at least.
