No progress bar on where’s my refund?

Asked by: jbell 3643 views YA Discussion

Filed on 2/1/13 and was accepted 2/3/13 and had 1 orange bar. Progress bar disappeared and now gives me the status “your tax return is still being processed…a refund date will be provided when available” Filed married jointly with EIC.

How others found here:

  • no status bar on where\s my refund
  • no progress bar on wheres my refund
  • wheres my refund has no status bars

Don’t worry about that, the WMR website has been having a lot of issued due to the amount of people checking.

The bottom line is that the IRS gave guidelines this year that 90% of filers would receive their refunds within 21 days. Since you were accepted on 2/3, you have a few more days of waiting.

I have not received a letter yet but…
I got the new screen on the WMR on 2/19 and got ahold of someone in accounts. They said the reason I am getting it is because my return is been delayed to check accuracy. Whatever that means and could take an additional 45-60 days to finish the process and my refund will be held until they are done. He didn’t say they needed more info and if they did I would get a second letter requesting it. I file the same way every single year with the same deductions and credits every single year so no clue why they are stalling now. So I am assuming it is the IRS way of holding up our refunds even longer or a stall tactic because the 21 days is in 2 days and they do not have them done yet. This is absolutely rediculous.
I just figured I would share what info I got for the supposed reasoning behind the new screen because a lot of other people are getting the same screen now on the WMR website.
