Is the “where’s my refund” date accurate?

Asked by: dtba 2645 views YA Discussion

I read that the irs has been delayed lately, but my date is the 28th. That is exactly 21 days which the IRS states as the longest it should take. So, does this date reflect the actual direct deposit date, or just the latest I should see my refund? I was really hoping to see it this week or early next, but I guess not. (my refund was accepted on the 8th).

How others found here:

  • is the irs refund date accurate
  • irs dd dates
  • how accurate is the date on wheres my refund

Mine was also accepted the same day and I was given the same date. I’ve heard so many rumors that it may be tomorrow or next Wednesday so I’ll be checking once a day. I really needed mine this weekend too. But stressing wont get it here faster. Good luck!

Not really. All dates are estimates only. I’ve had refunds in hand before WMR ever showed any status at all.

I filef on feb 2 and was to get my money on 15th but it never came. IRS is having system issues so don’t expect it on that date

I was accepted on Feb 2 and wmr first stated that my DD would be Feb 28, but the next following Wednesday it updated to Feb. 14, and to no information available. With all the changes in wmr, I called refund line and it gave me a DD of Feb. 14. Called bank and no pending transactions.

I did some research. Husband and I married this year so this is our first year filing a married joint return. When I entered my information, the joint, wmr gave me a DD of Feb. 21 and refund line confirmed that date as well.

Today, Thursday, Feb 16, I checked wmr for both my husband and I. It gave us an “Your refund is expected to be DD on Feb 21, 2012. If your refund is not credited into your account by Feb 26, 2012, contact your bank. Wait until Feb 26, 2012 before you contact us…..”

That is 21 days from the day we were accepted. Your status might have changed, as mine, changed from Wednesday.

FYI: When you are logged into wmr, on the lower left hand, under your refund amount, it now gives me a DD date. So I am assuming I should get my refund by that date because yesterday when I checked wmr, there was no DD.

    Good luck!

There is definetely a delay on all returns at this point…mine was accepted on 2-3 and if you look @ calendar it said 2-15 then 2-16. I didn’t get it dd yesterday or today. Since WMR is not working I called H&R and they said 2-21. Which makes it 1 week from original date. So you may luck out and get it sooner chances are you probably won’t see it until 28th though.
