IRS Letter 4883C

Asked by: Walton Cutler 2657 views ITA Discussion

I filed thru H&R Block on Jan 29, 2013. On Feb 02, the IRS accepted my return. On Feb 14, I recieved letter 4883C. I spoke with a CSR on Feb 18. After answering the required questions I was told to expect the refund in 2 to 4 weeks. Mon March 4 will be 2 weeks. As of today, the IRS Where’s My Refund page says “still processing. A refund date will be provided when available”. Should I reach out to the IRS again or wait another couple of weeks?

How others found here:

I filed on January 10, 2013 and was accepted early on Jan. 18th, 2013. I didn’t receive any reply at all until Feb. 22, 2013 and it was also the 4883c form letter. I called that day and was told it would be 4-6 weeks before I would receive the refund. It is now May 13, 2013…no refund, no correspondence. The Where’s My Refund tab on the IRS website still says the same thing it said in January (“still processing”). Now I have filed a return for 2011 and again received the 4883c letter. Needless to say, I am disgusted. At this rate, it will probably be August before I hear anything else.
