Income tax on $30000 salary?

Asked by: megan 46429 views YA Discussion

I was just wondering what my salary would be after taxes on a $ 30,000/year salary. I don’t need exact, just a roundabout estimate. Does anyone have a $ 30,000 salary and know what they get a month or year? Any help would be great.

    that will depend on your status
    if you are single for 2011 your non taxable income is $ 9500 which leaves $ 20500 taxable
    at the lowest rate of 10% that would be at least $ 2050
    that taxable income is not the lowest rate however

    If your salary is 30,000 a year then you will get gross monthly pay check = 30,000/12 = 2,500

    I assumed you have filed Single status, zero allowance on your W-4 :

    F/W = 313.35

    SS = 105

    Medicare = 36.25

    Net pay = 2500 – ( 313.35 + 105 + 36.25 ) = 2045.4 / monthly

    Net pay for a year : 2,045.4* 12 = 24,544.8

    You have not stated about your State, you might pay more for State Income Tax.

    10% federal income
    7.5% SSI
    3% state income.

    Round up to 21% for estimating and add 4% for other deductibles and say:

    $ 22,500

    or $ 1875 per month.

    how much state income tax must be paid by corporation that has $ 30000 of federal taxable income? The company deducted $ 2000 of state and local taxes on the federal return, and had $ 2000 of qualified worker retraining expenses. The corporation does business only in virginia.
