I’m making an application and they are asking me about my desired rate of pay; what exactly does that mean?

I’m doing an online application for Pizza Hut and they are asking me about my desired rate of pay, but I don’t know exactly what that means. I sort of got an idea, but I don’t know if it’s the right one.
Are they asking me how often I’d like to receive my pay, like if I wanted to get paid every hour?

What would you like your hourly rate to be. I’d say minimum wage, $ 6.75.

How much you want to be paid. Like $ 8/hour or $ 12/hour seems reasonable for most Pizza Hut jobs. Unless you’re applying for a manager’s job, they most likely are salaried so you’d reply with an annual salary amount such as $ 35,000/yr

They’re asking how much money you expect to make on an hourly basis, but its best if you leave this blank. They don’t want to talk money until after you get hired.

P.S. Minimum wage is different in every state, so don’t put 6.75 unless you know thats your states. (for instance, in NY its 7.35, not 6.75)

They’re asking what you want for an hourly wage, i.e. how much you would get paid per hour worked. You will probably be paid either once a week or more likely once every two weeks. This is obviously your first job, so I would say offer to work for minimum wage.
