If i got my state refund already, could i still be audited?

Asked by: Sildenafil plan 504 views YA Discussion

I filled my return on Janurary 24th. So i received my state refund on the 19th of Feburary. because of a certain form, the IRS began processing returns starting Janurary 15th. I called the IRS because a few friends in class filled later than i did an recieved both returns. The IRS told me they were sending a letter in the mail because they need something from me that i could fax to them said the IRS guy. But he didnt tell me what. My question is am i being Audited??? or are they just needing something to complete my return since i already recieved my State Refund.?
Im so confused. someone please help.

delays on your refund does NOT mean an audit
if you were being audited you would be notified, by mail, and with specifics, generally does not happen for two years after you filed

Yes, getting your refund is in no way an indication that you will never be audited. State and federal taxes are not related at all, so getting yoru state refund means nothing in relation to when, or if you will get afederal refund and whether or not the IRS will audit you.

You claimed something they need proof for. The letter will tell you waht that is.
