How to file PA local tax?

Asked by: proffr 245 views YA Discussion

I file my federal taxes through turbo tax. I file my Pennsylvania state income tax on the department of revenues website using pa direct file.I file form PA-40. I got a letter a couple months ago saying I never filed local tax for 2011. My father in law always did my taxes until last year. I usually break even on local or get a few dollars back and local taxes were taken out for 2011 and 2012. I’m married filing jointly with two children and take just standard deductions. I live in Lancaster County. Is there a separate form I have to fill out and can I efile it with my PA

There’s a separate form for local that you have to fill out. You get it from whoever collects the local tax for your municipality. It’a not countywide. Call your city, town, borough or township office, they should be able to tell you.
