You can file right when you get your W-2 in the mail with all your tax information from your occupation. I use turbo-tax the free edition but then again I only file my W-2 and University Tax info. If you have kids, donate to charity, or other tax information I would recommend going to H&R block or somewhere physical that why you can ensure getting a full refund.

The IRS won’t accept any returns until 1/30. Some complex returns won’t be accepted until late February or early March, but most people can file 1/30. If you file before that with a preparer, it’ll just sit on their computer until 1/30 when they can send it to the IRS.
