Generally, they take about 20 percent out of your check for taxes and social security.

When you are filling out your W4’s you need to claim ‘one dependant’ (that being yourself). They will take out some fed and state taxes, but yet you will get the majority of your money back. What’s that? Multiply 7.25 x 20 and then subtract about 60-75. This is what you’ll take home. Its good you are working. Its a key to sucess. The other is not quitting!

if you do not anticipate earning $ 5800 for 2012 you can claim exempt on your W-4 form, as a minor and a dependent of your parents
