How much in taxes would be taken out of my paycheck per week if I get a job?

Asked by: epondel 549 views YA Discussion

I’m a 17-year-old high school student in Florida. I’m single, female, and live with my parents (am still dependent). If I got a job that paid about $ 322 a week, how much of that would be taken out in taxes?
Logically calculated numerical estimates and resources would be highly appreciated. Thanks :)

Because you are still a minor you will pay between 0-5% federal taxes and I am pretty sure that florida does not have income. You will probably have to pay about 15-20% of your check each week to federal taxes but most of that will be refunded (so you get to the 0-5%) to you when you file your taxes next year.

5.65% for FICA, maybe 1% for a state employee tax
and as a minor, a dependent, not expecting to earn $ 5950 you can file your W-4 as exempt and no income taxes will be withheld
