How long until I get my e-filed tax refund?

Asked by: Long 308 views YA Discussion

I e-filed through turbotax on Friday. It is a relatively simple return, no deductions or anything like that. Turbotax says it will be deposited to my checking account the 13th at the earliest, but I don’t remember it taking that long in previous years. Seeing as it’s earlier in the tax season, does it really take that long to get my federal and state refund? Thanks for your answers.

  • how long are federal e filed refunds taking 2013

The IRS is only saying that 90% of taxpayers should have their refunds in 21 days or less.

I’m so tired of seeing the “21 days” thing being quoted from the irs. Yes it is true, BUT everyone who has filed especially efiled KNOWS that is the official statement. Some people are already receiving their returns. I also filed on Friday and it was accepted on Friday by the irs. It is still listed as “received” but I expect it to become “accepted” tomorrow or the day after because of what others who have similar returns have told me happened with theirs. You can go to the irs website and check but you need your ssn, filing status, and the exact amount of your return. Go check now and then in the morning, it is only updated at night so don’t waste your time checking every 5 seconds during the day ;)
