Asked by: Sildenafil plan 2057 views YA Discussion

i did my taxes for the first time on turbo tax.there was no issue it was an easy 1040. the irs sent a standard letter telling me to go to a website ( idverify.irs.gov) to verify..what im not sure,im assuming its just to make sure im the one that filed my own return..but when i tried to find the website..i cant? can anyone help? it does have a call number but not interested in talking to the irs. if i can just verify on the computer. if you could direct me to the site i would be grateful. ive been to the irs.website but see no verification icon to click on? thank you for your time.

Be Extremely careful!!!! Fraud is at an all time high and young people that don’t have experience in filing returns are being hit because they don’t know anybetter than to answer questions and give answers to questions that criminals need to steal your identity!!!!!! Please be very careful! I would go as far to call the irs and talk to someone and verify that they even requested the information before I told anybody a think. Criminals are very good at copying trademarks, copyrighted images and making logos look JUST like what they are supposed to to get victims to think they are legit. Sweetheart, please protect yourself and back up anything that is asking for your precious info. If you are young and just getting started with credit, jobs, etc…..whatever, well, even if you’re older it’s still hard, but you do not want to spend the next 10 years plus of your life recovering from identity theft and they hit younger ages hardest because of the naiveness!!!

https://idverify.irs.gov/IE/e-authenticate/failed-auth.do this is the actual website address but its telling you to enter your 2012 information but its still wanting you to call the 1-800 number there going to list after you answer the questions. I think the taxypayer name the return is in has called an requested this or changed there mailing address an if it doesnt match exactly you will have to talk to somone live. sorry it happen to me too.
