IRS isn’t accepting returns until January 30. They say refunds should take 21 days for 90% of filers.

Since the IRS has yet to accept and process a single return….how can anyone get their refunds?

Some are claiming so but no one knows for sure. Many of us were accepted early, myself included so who knows.

No. IRS is not going to start processing any returns until January 30. They are having to re-program the computers to properly handle all the tax changes that Congress recently passed.

A very few lucky individuals whose returns were transmitted to the IRS as part of an early test have received their refunds in the past day or so. Some of those appear to have kicked out in as little as TWO days.
Most returns won’t start processing until Jan 30. Don’t expect a 2 day turn around once the system is running under heavy load.

I haven’t received my refund yet, but my return was officially accepted today though it wasn’t supposed to be until the 30th. I filed on the 18th and got the notice it was accepted this morning.
IRS is testing their systems, some efilers are being selected to be processed early. But, even those selected early aren’t supposed to expect their tax refund until 21 days after Jan 30th. I’m hoping to get lucky and get mine back early, love to get my predatory car loan paid off ASAP.. lol

Found this link where 1 person says they got theirs and another person comments they got theirs 1/25/2013. Both were accepted on 1/23/2013. I’m thinking everyone who got accepted on the 24th will get theirs on Monday….my bday yay!!! (28 on 28)

On the 24th I received this email:
Your Federal Return Has Been Accepted!
What this means:
Congratulations! TurboTax was able to have your return accepted early by the IRS. You’re finished with your taxes.
Even though you’ve been accepted early, please note that the IRS does not begin processing refunds until January 30.
It states that although the return was accepted early, they will not process refunds until the 30th. I hope this helps answer your question.
