Do not call anyone. Wait for the letter to come in the mail.

The last time I received a letter, it was letting me know that my information was being reviewed..basically, I was being audited and that they needed more information in order to complete the process. It took several weeks, maybe even months as I can recall. Call them and get more information..or just wait until you receive the letter. Until then, they will put a hold on your return.

I filed my taxes on Taxact.com on 1/30/13 and didnt hear anything until 2/5/13 and the IRS deposited my refund on 2/8/13. That was the fastest I ever got a refund deposited into my bank acct.

The letter will explain. Don’t expect the refund to show up soon. They are likely asking for additonal documentation

As I’ve seen with my clients, you’re either getting audited or you’re federal refund is going to be offset for a past due debt or obligation. The only thing you can do is wait until you receive the letter.
