Flagged by IRS No Refund?

Asked by: 52 views Tax Discussion

I have a small student loan that went into default. I received a letter in the mail stating that my state refund was intercepted by the US Dept. of Edu as well as a federal agency. I called this number and they said that I was flagged by the IRS for wadge garnishment at 15% until the balance was paid off. (less than $ 1000) My question is…will they also intercept my federal refund? or just the state and keep garnishing until it is repaid? Thanks….

How others found here:

  • who is flaged by the irs
  • flagged with irs
  • my refund has been flagged

The IRS receives the same information as the state and they will take your refund untill the garnishment is cleared. Good luck
