If you owe school loans, back taxes or child support the return you have coming will not happen. It will be applied to what you owe.

No way to find out online. However, you can call the Financial Management Service (a bureau of the Department of Treasury) to find out if you have any federal debts that your refund might be used to offset. The number for the FMS is on the website that I linked below.

You can’t. There is a very, very strict rule against anyone at the IRS putting any information about any taxpayer online for any reason. When Obama wanted something about his taxes to be online, he had to get a copy of it printed on paper first, and have someone scan the paper printout, so that the image could be put online. The IRS would not do it for the President of the United States, and they certainly won’t do it for you.
If you want any information, you have to have them give it to you by mail, fax, or telephone.
