No. The forms and instructions are not finalized yet, so it’s not possible to file a paper return yet. The IRS won’t even start to accept e-filed returns until Jan 22 at the very earliest. Many taxpayers will have to wait upwards of a month or more before the forms and instructions that are affected by the “fiscal cliff” legislation recently signed into law are finalized.

You don’t “get” a return, you FILE a return. A tax return is the forms and schedules that you send to the IRS. If you overpay your taxes, you get a REFUND of the excess. Even if you can e-file a return on Jan 22, the first round of refunds will take about 10 days. The IRS has already announced that processing times this year may be longer than in the past for many taxpayers, in part because of changes in the Tax Code and in part due to anti-fraud procedures.

The IRS has not yet finalized their filing data, no data has been released to any of the preparers, programs are not written to prepare or process returns; and, on top of this the IRS has announced that they will not even be accepting returns until January 22nd at the earliest.

IRS is not accepting any returns until Jan 22
H/R might prepare your return and efile it through their system which you may get an acceptance but that is not the acceptance from IRS that isn’t even open for 2012 returns
and the 7 days dd they tell you could very well not be possible
