Anyone still have their taxes processing after 21 days?

Asked by: jbell 890 views YA Discussion

I e-filed my taxes on 1/18/13 and they were accepted by the IRS on 1/30/12. That would make today the 21st day. I expected to wake up and see them approved with a deposit date but it still says processing. Anyone else in the same boat?

How others found here:

  • why is my return still processing 21 days later

Yes I am still waiting. I filed mine on 1/25 and they were received 1/30. I have received messages like we have received your taxes and they are being processed, a due date will be provided once your return is approved. Then I received a message a week ago that said, we have received your return and it is processing, you should expect to see your refund within 21 days of us receiving it. As of today, still no due date.

IRS Statement on “Where’s My Refund?” Tool Feb. 14, 2013
The IRS alerted taxpayers and the tax community it is experiencing high traffic on “Where’s My Refund?” as more tax returns come in. The heavy volume of refund inquiries means that the IRS anticipates both “Where’s My Refund?” on IRS.gov and the refund feature on the IRS2go phone app will have limited availability during busier periods.
Due to the large number of inquiries and to avoid service disruptions, the IRS strongly urges taxpayers to only check on their refunds once a day. IRS systems are only updated once a day, usually overnight, and the same information is available whether on the Internet, IRS2go smartphone app or on IRS toll-free lines. While “Where’s My Refund?” is updated nightly, your account will not change that frequently.
The IRS is seeing a good start to the filing season, and tax refunds are being issued timely. Nine out of 10 taxpayers typically receive refunds in less than 21 days when they use e-file with direct deposit.
The IRS expects to see the number of tax returns — and related refund inquiries — steadily increase around the President’s Day holiday week.
Here are some tips to help taxpayers with their refund questions:
*Have the right tax information ready before using any of the IRS refund tools. This includes Social Security number, filing status and refund amount.
*You don’t need to check “Where’s My Refund?” more than once a day as your information will not change.
*To avoid system delays, the best time to check on refunds is evening and weekends.
*There is no need to call the IRS about your refund; the telephone service has the same information that is available on “Where’s My Refund?”.

Yep! Accepted 1/30– called yesterday and the man told me that I am under review and will get something in the mail!! I’m like, “really? 21 days later and wmr still states processing?! This couldn’t have shown up on the wmr tracker or SOMeTHINg!! He also said it could be something very minor that they can fix or not. He says it’ll be a total of 30 days from my acceptance date of the 30th so I’m hoping that’s the case!!! I also checked my return info myself and saw nothing that would cause red flags!! I’m wondering if I can call hrblock (efiled) and ask them if they see anything!!?? Sooo annoying!! I believe it’s just a stall tactic bc of our government being so damn broke! Everyone who is still waiting needs to call them to see if they are also being reviewed! And call the treasury automated hotline to see if you owe any money?? You’ll just need your social to enter. Good luck!

Me!! It’s getting pretty frustrating, it’s been the 21 days they said to wait and now that’s passed so how do we know how long it will be now since they didn’t stick to their guideline. There is no telling when we will get it and that’s what in afraid of.

I filed throu Hr Block online on Jan. 21st. Was approved the 30th. Today is day 21 and I am still waiting as well. I’ve tried to locate a reason for the wait but there isn’t one so far. My friends and I all filed the same day but they all used Turbo tax. Not sure if there was an issue with the Hr Block system causing errors in the return but I know this willbee the last yr I use them to file!

Me and my husband filed on 1-31-13 and was recieved by the IRS on 2-1-13. Up until Sunday 2-17-13 it said return recieved you should get your refund within 21 days. Then that day it changed to no bars and your refund is still processing a DD date will be givin when available. Im on here to maybe shed some light on this situation. So today 2-21-13 my 21st day I called this # that someone on here had already givin and it helped. The very nice lady did some research into my return and come to find out she said that my refund was apart of a batch when they had a system error. She proceded to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my refund that they just needed extra time to get it processed. I asked how long that could take she said up to an additional 14 days. I then asked her if I could get a DD date or deposit anytime from tomorrow 02-22-13 up to the 14th day she said yes anytime between that time frame. She said she didn’t see any reason I wouldn’t get them in that time frame and to continue to check WMR once a day. The # I called is 1-800-829-0582 after you hit 1 for enlglish it will ask for an ext # you need to put ext.326. Hope this helps someone. It really sucks that I have to wait even longer, but now I finally know why and I haven’t heard of any systom error until I called myself.

I filed on Feb. 1, still waiting, says still processing…I thought within 21 days, so that’s not true. Whenever we owe them money, they want it now and have to set up payment arrangements, or to be paid in full in xxx amount of days, and now they are screwing everyone over, you wait and wait just to see it’s still processing and no one has any real answers…?
