I believe you can file taxes at any age aslong as theirs enough income.

there is no threshhold age for filing taxes. if you make enough income, the irs wants their cut. in 2012, you can make up to $ 5950 before you owe taxes if you are claimed by your parents.

don’t forget state taxes and welcome to the wonderful world of income tax!!

Where did you get the idea you have to be 18 to file? Not true.

File for 2012 (the one that’s being filed now). You can’t do 2013 and 2014 yet, those years aren’t over.

au contraire, if you are old enough to work you are old enough to file an income tax return
this income for 2012 should be reported to you on a W-2 which you will use to input your 1040 form, there are three, EZ, A and Long form
if you are living in the household of your parents and do not provide more than 50% of your own support, they claim you as a dependent and your non taxable income is $ 5950
support consists of your % of rent, utilities, home phone, food, clothing, medical, entertainment and transportation which is NOT a car payment, car insurance, gas, or the cell phone bill

You can do taxes before you are 18. In theory, even a baby can do taxes. There is no minimum age. The instructions even discuss how taxes can be done for a child too young to be able to sign its own name on the form.

You are not able to claim your taxes for any year on a different year.

You are able to claim your taxes from 2012 and 2013, and 2011, 2010, 2009, etc., going all the way back to the year you were born — but not on 2014.
